Big Announcements
Hi all! I know it’s been a while since we’ve heard from our favorite young detective, Henry Bell. I’ve been busy working on and sharing my other webserial, a gothic fantasy romance called Fractured Magic, but the next big Henry Bell mystery will be coming soon (more on that later).
First, the big news: I’ve decided to leave Substack. I recently learned about the site’s content moderation problem, and while this is a personal decision I wouldn’t ask or expect anyone else to make, I’m uncomfortable with this and have decided to host my webserials elsewhere. And on that note…I’m moving both the Case Files and Fractured Magic over to ghost! Ultimately, I think this change will be a good thing: ghost’s functionalities let me roll up my website, my Substacks, AND my Patreon all into one!
Both stories will remain free, and I have no intention of ever changing that, but hosting a website does come with fees. I’m happy to cover these, but every bit of support is greatly appreciated! The new website has several optional paid tiers, each coming with perks!
$2/month - The Patron - This is the no-perks, “I just want to support” tier.
$5/month - The Folk Hero - With this tier, you’ll receive a monthly behind-the-scenes newsletter that includes sneak peeks, character art, and glimpses into my creative process.
$8/month - The Detective - In addition to the behind-the-scenes newsletter, this tier will get you early access to ALL new chapters (both Henry Bell and Fractured Magic) — a week before they’re available to the public.

**If you’re currently a free subscriber and would like to remain a free subscriber, you don’t have to do anything.**
Ghost allows me to automatically transfer Substack subscribers to my new website. However, if you’d like to join one of the paid tiers, you’ll need to do that manually.
I understand if you no longer wish to subscribe to the story — you signed up for a Substack serial, and this will no longer be that. I’ll be transferring everyone over on Sunday (10/6), so you have until then to unsubscribe. (You’ll be able to unsubscribe anytime after that, of course, but you’ll have to do it through ghost). If you do plan on sticking around, I have a surprise! On Monday (10/7), I’ll be sending out a new short story taking place in the world of Tamarley. This one will follow a certain sidhe lord we all know and love. And speaking of Taise, he’ll be returning for the next full Sheridan Bell mystery! That one is in the planning stages right now, and I hope to start publishing it late winter/early spring.
